don't be a wimp
You have to be bold in your walk with God

Printer-Friendly Version

Why you need this to be a World Changer

  1. God doesn't want us to be wimps!
The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion. Proverbs 28:1
  2. God doesn't want our lives to be lived in vain.
For you yourselves know, brethren, that our coming to you was not in vain … we were bold in our God to be entrusted with the gospel of god in much conflict. I Thessalonians 2:1-2

Characteristics of a Bold Christian

  1. Christians that are ordinary.
Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled… Acts 4:13
  2. Christians that have been broken.
And seeing the man who had been healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it. Acts 4:14
  3. Christians that are obedient to Him.
So they called them and commanded them not to speak at all or teach in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered and said to them, "Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard." Acts 4:18-20
  4. Christians that truly worship God.
So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding no way of punishing them, because of the people, since they all glorified (worshipped) God for what had been done. Acts 4:21

What can a Bold Christian Expect

  1. Persecution.
Remember the word that I said to you, "A servant is not greater than his master. If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you … But all these things they will do to you for My name's sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me."
    John 15:20-21
  2. To see God show Himself in mighty ways.
But Peter, standing up with the eleven, raises his voice and said to them, … that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved … then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them. Acts 4:14, 21, 41

How to Grow in your Boldness

  1. Don't be ashamed of your faith in Christ.
According to my earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death. Philippians 1:20
  2. Pray for boldness.
Now, Lord, look on their hearts, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word… And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness. Acts 4:29, 31
  3. Spend time with God.
Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John… they realized they had been with Jesus. Acts 4:13

One Last Thought

God wants to use you to do incredible things. He doesn't want us to be wimps. He wants us to stand up for what we know is right and share His love with all those around us.
