DAY 31: No News is good news

Today we will not watch or listen to any form of media besides the Bible and your homework. Don't watch TV, listen to the radio, read the newspaper, play CD's, go online, or go to the movies. Be still, so you can hear the quiet voice of the Holy Spirit.


Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth. Psalm 46:10

Suggestions

• Use this time to get a fresh focus on God. You'll probably discover how much you are addicted to the media. The question to ask is, " How much does media control me?".
• When "USA Today" and "Teen People" asked more than 100,000 U.S.
  teens which (if any) forms of media they thought promoted violence to
  their peers, 56% cited movies, 50% said video games, 45% cited the Internet, 44% said TV, 43% noted music and 34% cited news coverage. Fast all of these things today!
  

Adults
Fast all forms of media (unless needed for your work) and use that time to read God's word, pray and "be still and know that I am God."
